Dwell in the Question

If you rush to come up with a solution you might skip over identifying the real problem. It’s a lot easier to rush to pick a solution to some problems than it is to saute and simmer in the frustrations and conflicts that define those problems. But that’s where you have to stay, discomfort and all, to get the question right.

Thank you – I needed this. it arrived at precisely the moment it was meant to and really helped me relax … I had been getting into a paddy over a problem. Just letting go of it … helps. The answer will come to me if I relax.

      Thanks for your comment, Jenny.

Earlier today I was talking with a friend who recounted a time in her young adulthood when she met someone with a wise, experienced, “been there, done that” demeanor. She said watching him respond to people in crisis was life-changing for her. He was able to say, “This miserable part won’t last forever, it will end after a while [almost a set time],” with calm confidence, from experience and as fact. We fear discomfort and rush to end it, but sometimes we just have to ride part of it out, and sometimes we have to be willing to live in the discomfort to get a clearer picture of what’s going on.

Peace to you as you wait for your answer.

  3. What I love about this:
I never know WHERE Steve will turn up! In the kitchen this time, making a sauce (with wine even)…making a terrific metaphor.
How about an ebook that is page after page of your videos?
How do we get you discovered by some producer? You could do a fantastic segment for entrepreneurs on a regular show…and then have your show….the visuals, the voice, the message….IT’S IN THERE!
I hope all Steve’s fans will tweet and facebook his stuff …there are so many who need this!
    Tweet, tweet,

Thank you, Gayle. I enjoy sharing ideas I think will benefit other people, AND I enjoy playing around with simple video skills. I recommend everyone take on a starter project to see where it takes them!
